Hello Bud Rank Family!
We are at the end of the 23-24 school year and it seems like it went too fast! Our students are now on their way to advancing to the next grade level. Our 6Th graders who have spent the last 7 years at Bud Rank will now begin a new chapter in their life as junior high students. Parents of our graduating 6TH graders, my heart goes out to you as your young children now begin their ascent into their teenage years. I can't imagine the emotions you could be feeling as you look back to the kindergarten years, and now stop and think how did this happen so quickly. Most parents I have talked to have said to me 'Where did the time go as it happened so fast". This brings me to a thought/question of what about our teachers? In the midst of talking about our children's advance to the next grade level and the emotional time for parents, do we think about what our teachers are going through emotionally? They have spent the last 9 months with our children for 7 hours a day and now they have to say goodbye to their students. They have watched our children grow, develop, and make academic progress over this time and now have to stop that relationship. If we put this into perspective, it is no different than having to say goodbye to students they will no longer see and now have to start relationships with a new group of children 2 months later. Do we as parents stop and think about how challenging that can be? We discuss what a great job our teachers do daily. We highlight how great they are at helping, supporting, teaching, and assisting our students to do the best they can academically. We talk about their total commitment in and out of the classroom and dedication that goes far beyond the classroom. We don't stop and think about one more task and challenge for them and that is the emotions they are feeling when having to say "goodbye". I for one sympathize for them as it isn't just our emotional challenge as parents watching our children go on to their next grade level, but also our teachers. At the end of the day I like to think we are one big family here at Bud Rank and we all have to share in these experiences. I'm sure that Mr. Gettman, Mrs. Sanchez, and all of our administrative staff share in these feelings and quite possibly even more. They have watched their students each and every year grow, get older, become more educated, advance socially, get to know their personalities, and have got to know them on all levels for 7 years. As I write this summary its emotional just thinking about all of these changes for our school staff and parents. The good news is our teachers, administrative staff, and parents have now started the process in helping our children prepare for their future endeavors!
We have had tremendous success all school year for our students, parents, and administrative staff for 2023-2024. All of our extra curricular activities have been successful and enjoyable, our sports programs have been successful, and last but certainly not least our academics have been successful. What a great enjoyment at our academic award ceremonies to watch each child go up to accept their awards for all of their hard work and effort. I have enjoyed the musical performances, the oral interpretation performances, our band performances, our sporting event performances, our dances, and our field trips to name a few as I am sure all of our parents and staff have. Thank you to all of the teachers and administrative staff for volunteering your time to being coaches for all of our programs. Thank you to our plant maintenance staff for making our school grounds look nice and beautiful. Our school looks brand new like it did when we first opened in 2007. Thank you for help, support and extra work for all of our activities in setting up and breaking down for all events. In addition to all of those duties Mr. Moss also dedicates time as a coach for a few of our sports teams also. It has been a successful year for our PTC group as well. The fundraisers have been successful and helped our teachers and students have the best experiences for this school year and beyond. Thank you to our PTC Board for a very nice teacher's appreciation week this year! Thank you for all of the effort, time, and commitment to show our teachers and administrative staff how much we appreciate them! I don't know that we can thank our teachers enough for all of their efforts and dedication. I have spoke to many of our teachers to thank them and how much they are appreciated! So, on behalf of all of us parents, students, and PTC I want to say a big THANK YOU!
I would like to conclude by thanking Mr. Gettman for another great school year! Your leadership, commitment, participation, and guidance has helped students, teachers, administrative staff, and our school as a whole be the best elementary school in CUSD! I want to thank all of our PTC board, members, and parents for all of your help, support, time, and perseverance for all of our classrooms, activities, and fundraisers this year. A special thank you to all of our room parents for supporting our teachers and students in the classrooms. Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered their time and energy to all of our activities and snack shack events. Thank you to our yard teachers and staff for monitoring all of our recess and lunches. Thank you to our cafeteria staff and helpers for ensuring all of our delicious meals are enjoyable for our children. It has been an honor to serve as your PTC President! It has been a privilege to work with our whole PTC staff, administrative staff, teachers, and for Bud Rank elementary school. This is the best elementary school and experience for me as a PTC board member, parent, and volunteer. I could not ask for a better school experience as a parent than here at Bud Rank. Thank you everyone!
Sincerely
